Erin May McMonagle: Certified Parent Coach, educator,
and your biggest parenting cheerleader!
Hi, I’m Erin — and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m the founder of Curio Parenting, a parent coach, educator, and fellow parent who knows firsthand how hard—and how beautiful—parenting can be.
I’ve earned degrees (Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, Teaching Certification from Millersville University), and I’ve spent years working in behavioral therapy and education. But, if I’m being honest, a lot of the traditional strategies I was trained in just didn’t sit right with me. They felt disconnected, overly focused on “fixing” kids' behaviors, and not nearly enough on supporting the whole child—or the parent.
Everything shifted when I became a mom. And then again when I became a foster parent. Suddenly, it wasn’t just theory—it was real life. I found myself face-to-face with the same struggles so many of my clients were having. I had read all the books. I had all the knowledge. But I was still overwhelmed, reactive, and confused.
I knew I wanted to do things differently. I just didn’t know how.
That’s when I really dug in—beyond the surface stuff—and started doing the deeper work. I got certified as a parent coach through the Jai Institute for Parenting, surrounded myself with people who could ask the hard questions, and began to untangle my own story. And slowly but surely, everything changed.
That experience inspired me to create Curio Parenting—a space where you can feel seen, supported, and reminded that you’re not alone. A space where we center your experience as the parent, because I believe you are the key to the kind of relationship you want with your kids.
My approach isn’t about quick fixes or being the “perfect parent” (whatever that is). It’s about getting curious—about your triggers, your past, your hopes—and learning to show up with presence and intention, even when things get messy.
